Nick Luck clearly has rubbed off on Lightfoot

Its another snapshot into the life of Pro Punter and Tipster Extraordinaire Matt Mitter aka Value Rater, lets see whats got him angry in the racing world this week!!!!
Also a name to watch out for in the Racing media world.

Monday & Tuesday

Well its eyes down for Cheltenham with lots of exciting meetings  re the big 4 days in March . If your a Cheltenham fan which lets be honest we all are then here at Value Rater  we have all bases covered  and I guarantee you like every cheltenham I will be aiming to bag some seriously big priced winners. I have done it year on year as many of you know so these aren’t empty promises.  At the bottom of this article you will find an offer that will blow your socks off.

A rare Monday bet for me I was all over Little Bruce   in the 3.35  @Carlisle  and felt he should be even money so when I  saw 7/4 we got everyone on sharpish. This horse has improvement in him and the others in the race looked like they had lots to prove.

He came to win the race and looked like he was staying on well and we had beaten the sp  as he went off   5/4  but inexplicably he emptied up the carlisle hill and finished third.Im afraid Little Bruce’s winning run has come to an end

Tuesday was Wetherby and we had one investment for us  was nailed down . In the 4.oo  Grans choice each way at a whopping 16/1 was the call George Bewley may not have many horses but he has them in good form. This was poor class 5 contest but the horse was down a pound for last time and  I was convinced the conditions of the race were ideal.

The market followed us and he went off much shorter  HOWEVER   no-one told the horse and he never went a yard. I am afraid we knew our fate early and the horse clearly has issues between his ears. He is an utter rouge   and wont be carrying any more of our cash .

Wednesday

No bet so you’ve guessed  it more Cheltenham Festival meetings  had Gary Finley over who walked in and said The Ego has Landed. The guy is insufferable.

Thursday

No bet  day again looked and looked but nothing there strong enough told my members relax and keep our powder dry for the weekend  as a wise gambler once said   â€œSometimes the best bet is No Bet “

Friday

Its off to Warwick we go for a strong fancy in the 3.35    Templehills was the call at 11/4.Warwick and good jumpers go together like strawberries and cream and Templehills led them a merry dance here last time pouring it on from the front. I was convinced he could do the same to this lot and get away from them around Warwick’s tight turns.

Very very strange betting patterns as Templehills as for a horse who should have been 6/4 he went off 9/2 (someone knew) and barely got halfway round before slowing to a crawl. This is not the horses form and I wonder if there is a cloud over the Twiston Davis yard .I will be monitoring them over the next few days because a few have run lifeless races.

Hugely disappointing   but there is something positive , I watched a Racing UK feature this afternoon by the excellent Nick Lightfoot.  You may not have heard of him but I am convinced he is the new Nick Luck and will be a big star.  Inncisive,   clearly very knowledgeable and seems a charming man as well I am sure a big future awaits Mr Lightfoot. You heard it here first!!

Saturday & Sunday

One big bet Saturday    , Its time to bring home the Mayo  !

It was a big days racing at Kempton   (wont be saying that in a few years time)    and I was slamming into one bet    Peter the Mayo Man , a highly progressive Novice who was beaten last time at Musselburgh in a race that turned into a sprint. Here we had guaranteed pace in the race and i thought the 7/1 early price was a steal .I instructed my clients to get stuck in   plus I told them to get some 33/1 for the Supreme novices at Cheltenham  that is how highly I rate this horse who in time will make a smashing chaser

In the end   Peter the mayo man ran a great race but was outpaced by two very good horses in Elgin and River Wylde who past him between the second last and the last. Cheltenham will suit much better but I suspect this big strapping horse needs  further already or a real end to end gallop to be seen at his best.  This looks rock solid  Hurdle form and the front three will go on to many more wins !

No Mayo  today  but I am convinced in time we should stick with him and I cannot wait to see him over a fence
